15/11/10 - A trip to the shops and recycling
bins
Well after weeks of looking at piles of
carrier bags full of plastic bottles, margarine tubs, empty milk
carton etc. I decided I could no longer stand them filling the
garden.
The sun was shining, although only about 3
degrees, but why not eh.
After dropping the keys into the locker and
spending the next 20 minutes taking everything out to remove the
shelf to get to them, I was ready to try and fire her up.
Bearing in mind it has been a month since the last time she moved or
was started, it took a few pumps of the accelerator, and with the
engine slowly turning over, she soon fired into life. A short squeak
from the fan belt and we were in business.
After pulling off and turning the wheel, I
noticed some insulation tape appear on the steering wheel, strange
you may think, as did I! On closer inspection, my make-shift
indicator switch and wiring loom had some how, unknown to man, got
itself tangled around the steering column and every time the wheel
turned, it pulled the wire further until sure enough, it popped off
both ends, leaving me without a right indicator - great, another
job, just meant I could only turn left!
The cover over the roof rack was full of
water, so a few sharp attempts at breaking soon had that clear and a
wet leg was received, I should have shut the drivers window!
Anyway, a pleasant, if not damp, trip to the
shop and on to the recycling saw the first trip of November done,
batteries boosted and ready for the next time.
Total nights camping - Unchanged
